We can service most urban home addresses in Ontario. If there is a cable TV line running to your home from the road (not from a satellite dish), then yes we can service your address with our home internet plans. If you are unsure, or want to be sure, just ask us to check the computer systems (for free), and we will reply by email within 24 hours. Check My Toronto Address For Internet Plans Availability.
We do not charge you for the cost of the installation or activation, if is free, even if the cable company has to run cable line all the way from the road to the modem inside your home. The cable company always charges us for the installation / activation or (transfer from them or another cable internet provider), even if all they have to do is press a button in an office, and we pay that, but we are not passing that cost on to you. We eat that cost in hopes of having you as a long term customer.
Yes, a cable internet modem is required. The cable company requires it to both meet the DOCSIS 3.1 standard, and be on the list of suitable modems that they control. (Do not assume that a modem you were able to use with them, is on that list, likely it is not.) You can bring your own modem, if it is suitable, but please ask us if it is, before placing the order. (If you bring your own modem, as part of placing the order through the website we will ask for the Mac ID and serial number, that info is on a label on the modem.) As part of the order process we offer you options for buying or renting modems. Modem rentals are $15.95 per month. Modems ship by Canada Post and usually arrive within 2 to 3 days, excluding weekends and stat holidays.
As much as possible, we try to have home internet plans remotely activated, as most of the time your home is already wired for cable TV or home internet, so all you have to do is connect the modem to the cable TV outlet on the wall, or the cable line laying on the floor.
Please enter your Visa or MasterCard information as part of placing your order. It can be a credit card or a MasterCard Debit card or a Visa Debit card. The card number will be charged the first month's internet service at that time (for the upcoming 30 day period), then it will be charged every 30 days. We use Stripe Payments Canada Ltd. to process our credit card payments, so we accept any payment methods that they accept on our behalf. We invoice by email. You can manage your invoice payments and credit card information from within the Client area of our website. Questions are welcome.

Most home internet providers in Toronto all use the exact same cable company lines, so it is very easy to transfer your cable internet from another Toronto internet provider to WRS.
If we are unable to service your address, but the modem was already shipped, please return it by taking it to any Canada Post Office, and ask them to print a return mailing label to place on the parcel (which will also cover the return postage), using Canada Post Return ID Number: PR323420. For all other modem return situations, please ask Canada Post to use Canada Post Return ID Number: PR172480. (They have to print it, you can't print it on your own.)
